Gods for breakfast.

The thing that stuck out most to me about our introduction to Rome on Tuesday was when Dr. Mitchell said that Rome "Ate gods" wich means that they were VERY inclusive to other religions. They would adopt just about every religion of all the people that the conquered. I think it must have gotten to the point where they were willing to cast of any "belief" that they had, in order to make everyone happy.

I beleive that in some ways, America does this. We are considered a "Christian" nation, but in the name of tolerence, it has became unacceptable to stand for what we beleive. We are supposed to allow and even support things that we don't neccesarily think are right, such as Abortion and Homosexuality.

I think that we should love everyone. That was commanded. But I think we need to be careful that we do not become TOO "ok" with lifestyles of sin, lest we give up our own beliefs and standards.

  2. I just want to expound on this even more... I don't really understand why people say we are a Christian nation. Please, correct me if I am wrong, but I think the correct term is we are an overly accepting politically correct nation. A child gets threatened to be expelled from school because he is riding a bike to class with an American Flag on it because it "may offend someone" (I was informed last night about a situation such as this being covered in the news.) My goodness, that is not even American. How can we be a considered a nation that takes on the name of Christ if we won’t even take pride in who we are as a nation? I could say a lot more, but I feel that wouldn't be very lady like. I encourage all of you to take "political correctness" out of your vocabulary and preach the truth fearlessly. If we won't even take pride in who we are as a nation... if we want to censor the flag and what it stands for... how in the world can we claim to be a nation in awe the True and the Living God. We can't, we will censor Him too. A Christian Nation? God... bless America. Show mercy on us. Forgive my sins, and the sins of my nation, and send revival. Amen. Good observation Jeremy.
