Achilles is Mentally Unstable

I really feel bad for Achilles at times. Although he is such a great warrior, he really fails to keep his psychological warfare defenses strong. It is greatly evidenced on many occasions, one being his fight against a river. I am extremely concerned for Achilles when he has become so arrogant that he starts hacking away at water just for spite. Accompanying this problem, he also carries out a conversation with a horse, drags a dead body around for long periods of time, and cries over some replaceable armor (as a great warrior should do, right?). Ah, poor Achilles.

  1. Shoot, I think they were all just a little bit whack.

-I mean who starts a war over a girl? Terrorism I can understand a little, but a chick? I mean, for real? That would be Menelaus.
-Then, who steals a guys girl even though he has more than a handful of his own, just because he can? Oh, right that would be Agamemnon.
-Who would fight for a girl who isn't theirs, who they probably didn't know existed before they went to battle? Uh huh, all of those warriors.

I agree with you, Achilles was pretty insane. But I would just like to add that just about every other character in that book was a wee bit coo coo, too.
