The exodus was definitely an “epic” event, but I find it strange how celebrated it still is today. I can see how Christians no matter what their ethnicity would want to celebrate it, because it is in the Bible and it is the history of their religion, but what about non believers? I know two Jewish families that say they do not believe in God, but celebrate the Passover. So this made me wonder what drives them to keep this ritual. Perhaps it is just their family custom that was so ingrained in their lives that they decided to continue it, but that makes it such an empty custom. I also think possibly a part of them still trusts their people, their ancestors. Watching these people’s lives reminds me of a child that sits in church every Sunday, yet never believes in God and when they get older they stay in that routine, knowing it is the right thing to do, but missing the whole meaning. However, no matter what the reason, the events of the Exodus are still a part of our culture today and it is good to practice and remember what God did for his people
