The Tree

I've heard the question, "Why did God put a tree in the garden if he didn't want us to eat from it." This can be answered simply enough. He didn't want robots. He wanted us to have a choice to love Him or to not love Him. Which of these is more special: forcing your child (may insert friend or other loved one here) to hug you? Or watching that child walk away from you, then suddenly turn around with tears in his/her eyes upon realization and come running back into your arms saying, "I understand and I love you...I truly love you." I believe God must allow us choices to allow us to have true love.

  1. This argument is presented quite nicely in Strobel's Case for Faith. (I believe).
