The story of Genesis and the Theory of Evolution. Well, to be honest, I am not completely sold on either one, mostly with the latter. Also, I really think it is a big waste of time, money and resources to worry about it. Perhaps I am being a bit too harsh, but the truth of the matter is nobody knows, yet we continue to do studies and perform experiments to try to find out where we came from.
As far as I am concern, I am a creature of God, created in my mother's womb. Do we really need to know where we ultimately came from? Whether we exploded out of nothingness, starting as little one cell organism that evolved to what we are now? To me, it would just be trivial knowledge. People of faith will still praise God for being so clever as to created us in such a way, and people of science will just grow to become more arrogant in their wisdom, thinking that they won some ultimate great battle. For centuries people have continued on living knowing how the world came into existence, and we will continue to live if we still have not figure out the answer. It is what you do with your life that really counts.
Now, I am not writing this to bash scientist. I think it is wonderful that they study God's creation, that they ask questions as to how things work. To me, it causes me to praise God more for his creation. How He created us to be able to adapt and evolve so that we do not die off, how He was able to have plants and human equal each other out (we produce CO2, they absorb it and produce O2, such thing like that). However, I feel like people waste so much time arguing about events that neither of them know the answer to. Why do we try to do something more productive with that time?

I'm going to chalk this up to curiosity. We're humans, it's our nature to be curious about the world around us. So, it's only natural that we question where we came from and how we came to be. Plus, who knows? Maybe by knowing more about the past, we can perhaps have a better understanding of the how the future will play out and how the world works around us. That's MY guess anyways, I'm no scientist.
ReplyDeleteBesides, what's wrong with the pursuit of knowledge. I believe NO piece of knowledge is useless, and believe me, I know LOTS of random knowledge.
